Biography

Abu joined the CSEM program in the fall of 2022. He grew up in Mumbai, India, where he did most of his education. He is a PhD student in the Center for Quantum Materials Engineering (CQME) group, specializing in computational materials science. His current work involves using quantum many-body simulation techniques, such as density functional theory, ab-initio Boltzmann transport, and many-body Green's function methods, coupled with high-performance computing techniques to uncover the electron-phonon physics in novel semiconductor devices. Outside academics, Abu enjoys fiddling around with astronomy, photography, sociology, anthropology, and learning new languages.
